The BD FACSMelody™ cell sorter is based on the same sorting technology as the FACSAria™ with fixed alignment and gel-coupled cuvettes. It uses new user-friendly software called FACSChorus™. Automation of complex tasks and guided procedures make the complex world of cell sorting accessible to a wider range of researchers.
This cell sorter is equipped with 3 lasers (Violet/405nm, Blue/488nm and Red/640nm) and 9 fluorescence detectors. Its single 100µm nozzle enables sorting at speeds of 6000 events/second in bulk or single cells. Population collection, limited to 2 lanes, is possible in 1.5 mL to 5 mL tubes or in plates.
Index Sorting enables researchers to examine the complete phenotype of each sorted event in a plate, and to associate that event with all sorted and unsorted events.
Over 20 fluorochromes have predetermined compensation values. Compensation is automatically recalculated when detector parameters are adjusted, simplifying operation and saving time.
Our FACSMelody™ is installed under a type II biosafety cabinet.
